Long-Range Feasibility Study for Expansion on the Museum Block
Project under construction

The Rhode Island School of Design retained M. Goodwin Associates and Randall Stout Architects to produce a simple feasibility study that would show the Museum’s immediate and future space needs on a portion of the existing museum block. The study included an assessment of the suitability for adaptive re-use of several adjacent historic buildings and a statement indicating how the museum might best improve its circulation and public visability problems. We worked with the Rhode Island School of Design Museum staff and the facility planning staff to advise the museum regarding maximum site potential, and the configurations which would best provide the optimal administrative benefits to the Museum’s visitation and functions. Rafael Moneo was chosen as the architect in mid-2000.
