The Nevada State Museum and Historical Society is a division of the State of Nevada's Department of Cultural Affairs, Division of Museums and History. MGA was retained to develop a full complement of supporting materials to move the museum to a new site in Las Vegas’s Springs Project, a separate $250 million development operated by the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) on a 180 acre site.

MGA prepared a Strategic Plan, a Staffing Plan, a Ramp-Up Plan, a Business Plan, and a Functional Building Program for a new building. We worked with a broad variety of participants—state officials, NSMHS staff, LVVWD staff, architects, local Las Vegas dignitaries and civic leaders.

The result was a comprehensive feasibility study used to determine the operating parameters for a sustainable institution at its new location. It was also used for fundraising and to outline the museum's physical and technical needs to the architects.

The new 78,145 GSF museum will be nearly three times larger than the original museum.
