Building program for a new building for the state’s principal history museum on a new site

Our programming for the State’s prestigious new history museum took place with a collaborative team of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple Architects, the LSM staff, The Baton Rouge Foundation, and representatives of the Governor’s office, the State Office of Budget and Finance, and numerous others.

Exhibits include numerous extra-large scale objects such as a Civil War submarine, a 48-foot shrimp trawler, a New Orleans Lucky Dog cart and an oil derrick. Our planning included consideration of the access and installation requirements for these extra-large scale objects, as well as interactive areas for food, music and event programming. MGA prepared a full construction building program for the new museum on the new site facing the State Capitol building.
