May Company site acquisition feasibility study program
May Co. site acquired 1995

M. Goodwin Associates provided LACMA with a due diligence and feasibility study to determine if it should acquire the historic May Company building. We provided two conceptual use programs and two cost estimates. In order to demonstrate to the Board the true cost of the potential Museum development, as opposed to the potential cost anyone would pay to renovate the building, the two options showed one as a basic developer/tenant non-museum project and one as a museum-use project with areas for exhibitions, offices, art storage and classrooms. The Museum acquired the building in 1995–96.
