Susan Nunemaker Braun

Professional Experience
Mrs. Braun has worked as a project associate and office manager for M. Goodwin Associates, Inc. since October 2003. She assists the president of the firm, Marcy Goodwin, on all aspects of the firm’s consulting projects, including travel to project sites and research and development of project reports. Prior to joining M. Goodwin Associates, she worked as the Associate Director of Los Colores, a small, private Hispanic textile museum that focused on the weaving traditions of Mexico and New Mexico. She worked with all administrative and managerial aspects of this museum, including oversight of day-to-day operations, programs, education materials, grant proposals, membership and development activities, individual & corporate solicitations, publicity, media contact and community outreach. She maintained all the databases and assisted the director with curatorial activities, publications, as well as in-house & traveling exhibitions. She has extensive knowledge and expertise with board leadership and development. Formore than ten years (1995-2006), Susan was been involved in founding and developing the only private Jewish day school in New Mexico. She served on the Executive Board since its inception through 2006, including two years as board president.

Susan has also owned her own business, Braun Design & Research, offering consulting services for non-profit institutions and organizations.

Prior to her tenure at Los Colores, she served for six years as the Education Curator at the University Art Museum and Jonson Gallery, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. Susan earned her Master of Arts in 1988 at UNM in 19th & 20th Century Art of Europe and the Americas and her undergraduate degree in Art History from Northwestern University. Early in her career she was on the staff of the Art Institute of Chicago, initially working in the Department of Annual Programs. She soon joined the Department of American Arts as a Curatorial Researcher, compiling a catalogue of the permanent paintings collection.
